Dubai: If your job allows for remote work and you wish to live and work in the UAE, there’s good news – the UAE offers a virtual work visa specifically for international workers.
By applying for this visa, you can obtain a renewable one-year residency permit. If you’re interested in applying, here’s how you can do so through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP), the immigration authority responsible for issuing visas in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain.
Foreigners working for companies outside the UAE can live in the country with a virtual work visa. This self-sponsored visa grants a one-year residency permit.
To apply for the visa, you will need to provide:
– Proof of employment outside the UAE.
– A bank statement from the last six months showing a deposit or a monthly income of at least US$3,500 (Dh12,855.53) or its equivalent in other currencies.
– A copy of your valid passport (minimum six months validity)
– A recent colored passport-sized photo
– Proof of health insurance – as specified on the ICP website, you must provide a valid health insurance policy from a UAE-based provider.
– Evidence of virtual employment outside the UAE
– A salary certificate showing a monthly income of at least US$3,500 or its equivalent in another currency
– An optional attested police clearance certificate from your country of origin
Please note that the specific mandatory or optional documents may vary based on the details provided in your application.
Before you start the application process, it’s important to know that upon applying for this visa, you will receive an entry permit. This permit allows you to enter the UAE and complete residency procedures within 60 days, which includes a medical fitness test, biometrics, and Emirates ID issuance.
